Meet iMAG

iMAG is a technical production company that specialises in all things video. We’re LED and video control specialists and pride ourselves on our inventory of premium equipment from the best manufacturers in the business, matched with the very best people. For over a decade, we’ve built an outstanding track record as a trusted supplier to the experiential, exhibition, conference, and live events markets and, since 2020, as a key provider to the film and high-end television industry (HETV). Our team has an unbeatable reputation amongst production managers, creative directors, designers, VFX supervisors, and DOPs worldwide.

Introducing Pete Jones

Pete discovered his love for live event technology while studying Engineering at Cambridge University. He studied live performance technology and worked as a sound and video technician before joining Anna Valley in 2010 as a senior project manager. After working his way up through the ranks, Pete was appointed Anna Valley’s operations director in 2015 and managing director in December 2019.

What iMAG was looking for

Founded 11 years ago by managing director Alex Strachan and client and brand director Charli Harding, iMag now employs 24 staff members across two sites. While previous growth has been organic, the business is primed for expansion across all markets. The new operations director position was created to help drive strategic growth and processes. Pete brings a wealth of both technical and commercial expertise to this role, with proven experience managing large teams and an extensive network of industry contacts.

Why Pete chose iMAG

For Pete, iMAG provides an opportunity to get back to doing what he loves – working directly with customers and technical teams to deliver extraordinary video solutions. iMAG delivers some massive projects and has an extensive inventory, but they’ve been able to maintain a very personal approach – both between staff members and with their customers. And iMAG’s reputation and high-end customer base means he’ll get to work on some really exciting projects.

iMAG’s bragging rights

iMAG supplies video solutions ranging from conference displays to full-blown virtual production volumes. While every project is handled with the same care and attention-to-detail, some are particularly memorable.

Sky Glass: This UK product launch featured twelve Roe, 2mm LED displays provided by iMag, arranged ‘in the round’ and automated to come together to form 4 seamless screens. Moving multiple tons of screens along a fifty-meter run and ensuring they joined with less than 0.5-millimetre tolerance!

All the Old Knives: Seventy percent of this Lionsgate film starring Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton was filmed on a 24m x 5.5m volume to recreate a Californian beach vista.  The LED wall and video playback was provided by iMAG..

Gucci Cruise 25: IMAG & Graymatter were tasked to provide innovative projection and video control solutions for the highly anticipated Gucci Cruise 2025 fashion show at the renowned Tate Modern in London. Multiple Panasonic PT-RQ35K projectors driven by our brand-new disguise GX3 delivered an unforgettable visual extravaganza that pushed the boundaries of fashion, art and technology.

Pete’s proudest moments

Pete’s worked on his fair share of projects with high stakes and complex requirements – and he’s wasted no time getting stuck in at iMAG.  Here are some of his career highlights.

Game of Thrones launch: Anna Valley provided a full video and lighting package for the worldwide season launch for Game of Thrones, hosted by Sky at The Tower of London. This included projection mapping the tower, building a VIP LED screen cinema for the launch and an extensive lighting package – whilst protecting the critically important scheduled monument.

Britain’s Got Talent: For close to a decade, Pete was responsible for delivering some of the most ambitious video sets for Saturday night TV. With audiences of up to 15 million, his team used cutting edge technologies to provide awe-inspiring displays for this British television institution.

NSPPD: iMAG and partner company, Graymatter Video, delivered a full outside broadcast and streaming package for Saltlight Group on behalf of NSPPD. Based at Twickenham Stadium with a live audience of 80,000 and 500 000 online viewers, iMag provided a seventeen-camera, broadcast quality OB shoot including spidercam, jibs, steadycam, 8 broadcast cameras and a PTZ system, with graphics system for overlays and lower thirds. All ISO recorded, streamed live to both YouTube and Facebook.  Talk about jumping in at the deep end!

Future plans

Beyond technical expertise and project experience, the key reason Pete and iMAG’s directors decided to work together is their shared professional values. They’re client-focused and committed to investing in the best equipment and talent. And. while they have ambitious plans for iMAG’s growth, they’re laser-focused on delivering top-tier video solutions, and doing it exceptionally well.
