Fortescue at Bauma 2025

Delivering the Trade Fair’s First Fully Anamorphic LED Installation

Fortescue’s presence at Bauma 2025 needed to be more than impressive. It needed to be iconic. Working alongside the creative team at Connect Live, the brief was to deliver a fully immersive, multi-level modular stand that positioned Fortescue as a forward-thinking force within the global industrial technology landscape. The central focus was a visually arresting feature that could bring the brand’s message of progress and innovation to life in a way that had never been seen before at Bauma.

The centrepiece had to do more than display content. It needed to transform from every angle, drawing visitors in, engaging them, and leaving a lasting impression. This led to the concept of a fully anamorphic LED column that seamlessly integrated into a modular stand architecture that could cater to both immersive storytelling and functional engagement zones.

The Challenge

This was no ordinary build. The complexity of engineering a large-scale anamorphic screen wrap meant that standard LED solutions simply wouldn’t cut it. The physical structure had to accommodate a precise pixel-perfect layout to ensure the anamorphic illusion worked from multiple predetermined sightlines.

The outer display needed robust, high-brightness LED that could maintain resolution and performance across a large surface area, including corners. The structure had to support tightly mapped content that distorted and resolved flawlessly depending on the viewer’s position. Internally, the stand required additional screens with superior resolution and colour accuracy, capable of delivering sharp content in close-proximity meeting zones. Every layer of the activation had to work in harmony to achieve a seamless experience.

With Bauma being the largest construction trade fair in the world, the pressure to deliver on both creativity and execution was intense. The entire solution had to perform flawlessly under live show conditions and within a high-profile international setting. Every element of our technical solution had to be efficient, adaptable, and flawlessly executed.

The Solution

iMAG worked as an integrated technical partner to Connect Live, delivering a complete LED solution designed for precision, scale and creative impact. We utilised 130 panels of our high-resolution ROE Visual BQ4, a rugged outdoor-grade LED product chosen for its incredible brightness, pixel consistency and durability. The outer column structure was achieved using our BQ Corner System, enabling perfect alignment for seamless visual continuity around every edge, essential for the anamorphic effect to land effectively.

Inside the stand, we deployed ROE Ruby 2.6mm LED panels, delivering stunning image fidelity across various display zones used for presentations and interactive brand storytelling. All displays were powered by advanced Megapixel VR processing, selected for its ultra-low latency, colour accuracy, and flexible real-time control, which proved vital for matching the complex 3D-mapped content to the physical structure.

The Result

Fortescue’s stand became an instant focal point at Bauma 2025. The anamorphic screen drew crowds from across the exhibition, with visitors stopping to engage, capture photos, and share their experiences online. The installation didn’t just turn heads, it turned Fortescue into one of the most talked-about exhibitors at the show.

This activation marked a genuine first for Bauma: the debut of a fully anamorphic LED wrap at the show. It positioned Fortescue as a future-facing player in their industry and showcased our ability to deliver technically complex, visually unforgettable experiences at global scale.

You can have the best kit in the world, the slickest pitch deck, and a glittering showreel, but if you don’t understand what your clients really need when the pressure’s on, you’ll never be their first call again. After more than twelve years working across the creative, brand, and production landscape, the iMAG team has been in hundreds of briefing conversations. And while every project, client, and budget brings its own personality, one thing is consistent: there’s almost always more going on beneath the surface. Here’s what they rarely say out loud, but actually really want from their AV partner. 1. “Make me look good to my client.” Whether you’re working with a producer, a creative agency, or even an internal comms team, there's usually another layer above them. A brand director. A Head of Production. A CMO. What they want isn’t just technical brilliance (though that’s always a non-negotiable). They want you to make them look like the hero. That means calm in chaos, fast fixes, respectful collaboration, and no surprises on site. At iMAG, we get that. We operate like an extension of your team - invisible when needed, front-footed when it counts.
