Trinity Hall's 675 Anniversary Campaign Launch

Bringing Legacy to Life: A Prestige AV Delivery for Trinity Hall’s 675th Anniversary Campaign

In summer 2025, Graymatter Video, part of the iMAG family, was appointed by Events Unlimited to deliver the technical production for a prestigious and historic event — the official launch of Trinity Hall’s 675th Anniversary Campaign.

As one of the University of Cambridge’s oldest colleges, Trinity Hall has played a vital role in shaping generations of academic excellence. This event marked the launch of a bold £50 million fundraising campaign under the theme Believe – Belong – Become, with the goal of supporting future students and securing the College’s next chapter.

The event was hosted in the heart of the College, welcoming esteemed alumni, benefactors and leading figures from the academic and philanthropic communities. Graymatter’s brief was to bring the campaign narrative to life through an immersive and elegant AV experience that matched the significance of the occasion.

The Challenge:

Delivering a technical solution of the highest standard within such a historic and architecturally sensitive environment required meticulous planning and an expert, light-touch approach.

The event spanned multiple areas of the College, including the iconic dining hall and the North and Front Courts. All visual and audio elements had to be designed to integrate seamlessly within these spaces, without compromising the heritage surroundings or disrupting the guest experience. This was not a spectacle for spectacle’s sake. The production needed to support the campaign’s emotional impact while demonstrating complete respect for the space, the guests, and the story being told.

The Solution

Working in close collaboration with Events Unlimited, we developed a fully integrated AV solution that delivered both creative impact and refined execution.

The dining hall was transformed into an immersive space using projection mapping, with bespoke animated content, created by innovative creative studio NOVAK, illuminating its historic ceiling. This approach brought depth and movement to the space while honouring its architectural detail. Lighting across the North and Front Courts was designed to enhance the College’s character and guide guests through the journey of the evening. Every fixture and placement was selected to achieve atmosphere without intrusion. Audio was delivered with clarity and control, ensuring speeches and music carried with warmth and precision across all areas. Every element was installed and operated with discretion, precision and sensitivity to the setting.

The Result

The result was a seamless, high-end event experience that reflected the ambition, history and heart of Trinity Hall. From the moment guests arrived, the College was brought to life in a way that felt both contemporary and respectful — a setting in which the campaign message could truly resonate. The AV delivery supported every emotional beat of the evening, elevating the content and creating lasting impact without ever overpowering the moment. The result was a seamless, high-end event experience that reflected the ambition, history and heart of Trinity Hall. It was a proud demonstration of how technology, storytelling and space can come together to shape a powerful and prestigious experience.

You can have the best kit in the world, the slickest pitch deck, and a glittering showreel, but if you don’t understand what your clients really need when the pressure’s on, you’ll never be their first call again. After more than twelve years working across the creative, brand, and production landscape, the iMAG team has been in hundreds of briefing conversations. And while every project, client, and budget brings its own personality, one thing is consistent: there’s almost always more going on beneath the surface. Here’s what they rarely say out loud, but actually really want from their AV partner. 1. “Make me look good to my client.” Whether you’re working with a producer, a creative agency, or even an internal comms team, there's usually another layer above them. A brand director. A Head of Production. A CMO. What they want isn’t just technical brilliance (though that’s always a non-negotiable). They want you to make them look like the hero. That means calm in chaos, fast fixes, respectful collaboration, and no surprises on site. At iMAG, we get that. We operate like an extension of your team - invisible when needed, front-footed when it counts.
