iMAG Expands with New Office Space based at Pinewood Studios to Strengthen Virtual Production Capabilities

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of a new office based at Pinewood Studios, marking iMAG’s third UK base and a significant expansion of our national footprint.

With a long history of working with productions at Pinewood Studios, the move places us at the heart of the UK’s film and television industry, offering closer support, faster response times, and on-the-ground expertise for productions that rely on its state-of-the-art LED, projection, and on-set video production services.

As one of the UK’s most trusted names in LED and virtual production, iMAG provides both dry hire and full-service VP solutions, giving productions the flexibility to access technology and support in a way that best suits their creative workflow and budget. Our VP team specialises in travel simulation and other complex, high-demand environments, with a portfolio that includes work for Apple TV, Netflix, Marvel Studios, Sky, BBC, Lionsgate, and Paramount.

Catherine Strachan, Client Relationship Executive, and Stephen Maddox, Producer, representing iMAG at Pinewood Studios, following the recent expansion news.

Stephen Maddox, iMAG’s Producer, brings a wealth of experience from his extensive background in directing and producing for television and film. His insight bridges the gap between creative vision and technical precision, ensuring productions achieve exceptional results on set.

“I’m thrilled that iMAG is now establishing a permanent presence based at Pinewood Studios,” said Maddox. “It’s a natural step for us, being close to our clients, supporting them in real time, and helping productions make the most of what virtual production can achieve. With our mix of dry hire options and fully hands-on VP services, we can offer the flexibility and expertise that modern productions demand.”

Alex Strachan, Managing Director at iMAG, added, “Pinewood Studios has always been an exciting hub for creativity, and our new presence on the lot represents another step forward for iMAG. As demand for virtual production continues to grow, being based at Pinewood Studios ensures we can work even more closely with our clients to deliver outstanding results across film and television. With a dedicated on-site presence and deep expertise in LED, projection, and media-server technologies, our talented team is proud to be driving the future of virtual production for film, TV, and commercial projects.”

You can have the best kit in the world, the slickest pitch deck, and a glittering showreel, but if you don’t understand what your clients really need when the pressure’s on, you’ll never be their first call again. After more than twelve years working across the creative, brand, and production landscape, the iMAG team has been in hundreds of briefing conversations. And while every project, client, and budget brings its own personality, one thing is consistent: there’s almost always more going on beneath the surface. Here’s what they rarely say out loud, but actually really want from their AV partner. 1. “Make me look good to my client.” Whether you’re working with a producer, a creative agency, or even an internal comms team, there's usually another layer above them. A brand director. A Head of Production. A CMO. What they want isn’t just technical brilliance (though that’s always a non-negotiable). They want you to make them look like the hero. That means calm in chaos, fast fixes, respectful collaboration, and no surprises on site. At iMAG, we get that. We operate like an extension of your team - invisible when needed, front-footed when it counts.
