The Art of Being Present: Meet Catherine, iMAG’s Client Relationship Executive

We always say that great client relationships are built on more than just good service; they’re built on trust, instinct, and understanding. So we sat down for a proper catch-up with Catherine, our Client Relationship Executive, to get to know the person behind the role. From global hospitality to high-stakes sales, and now to the heart of iMAG, Catherine’s journey brings a rare mix of experience, intuition, and steady confidence that’s already making an impact.

Read on to find out how calm confidence, global insight, and just the right dose of humour help Catherine build the kind of client relationships that truly last.

Some people make an impression not by being loud, but by being completely present. Catherine, who joined iMAG in September 2025 as our Client Relationship Executive, carries that kind of calm certainty. With a background spanning high-pressure sales and global hospitality, and a naturally intuitive sense for what people need, often before they’ve said a word, Catherine brings something quietly powerful to the team.

“I’ve known iMAG for a long time. I’ve seen the culture from the outside, and I’ve always admired how the team supports each other and works with such clarity. Now, being on the inside, I get to experience what I always suspected, that what makes this team so good is how steady and composed they are, even when everything around them moves at speed.” For Catherine, stepping into iMAG felt less like onboarding and more like alignment.

Her career journey has taken her from Jersey to France to New Zealand, moving through hospitality and into high-stakes sales, but one constant has always remained: a focus on people. “Client-facing roles have been my world from the beginning. Working across different cultures has shaped the way I read a room, listen for what’s not said, and flex to the moment. It’s why I feel so at home in events and production, no two days are the same, and no two clients are either.”

When asked what attracts her to this industry, her answer is succinct and unexpected: “Because it’s fun.” She goes on to describe the thrill of working on a music awards show one day, a fashion brand launch the next, and a film set the day after. “Screens might not be considered sexy, but what we create with them absolutely is. We’re not just displaying content. We’re helping to shape how moments unfold, ensuring that every pixel reflects the standard our clients stand for.”

In a role built around relationships, Catherine’s approach is human-first. “The best service doesn’t start with a solution; it starts with trust. When a client calls me in a panic, I want them to feel that it’s handled. That it’s now on us, and that we’ll deliver it with care, clarity and calm. That’s what builds relationships that last.” Her instincts are equally attuned to the team. On site, she has an easy awareness of mood and energy, quietly tuning into what people need. “Sometimes, someone needs space and silence. Other times, it’s about catching their excitement and turning it into momentum. And when it’s an 11pm derig and everyone’s flagging, well, that’s where Haribo and humour come in.”

Catherine recently relocated to the New Forest and is still settling into the rhythms of country walks, experimenting in the kitchen, and unpacking the last few boxes of a life reassembled. But London remains close, both literally and emotionally. “I still get back up there regularly. It keeps me connected to friends, culture, and a pace that I love dipping back into. But here, there’s space to think. And in a job like this, you need that too.”

We finish with a few quick reflections: three words to describe her approach? “Empathetic. Agile. Reliable.” What’s one thing more suppliers should do? “Listen properly. Listen for what’s not said. Anticipate the issue before it’s voiced. That’s real partnership.” And how does she make every client feel like the only one in the room? “Be present. Slow down. You don’t need to say yes to everything, but you do need to make them feel heard.”

Catherine’s arrival at iMAG strengthens the way we work with clients. She brings a steady, people-focused presence that enhances every interaction. Her global experience, intuitive understanding of people and calm professionalism align seamlessly with how we imagine, create and deliver. We are genuinely pleased to welcome her to the team.

You can have the best kit in the world, the slickest pitch deck, and a glittering showreel, but if you don’t understand what your clients really need when the pressure’s on, you’ll never be their first call again. After more than twelve years working across the creative, brand, and production landscape, the iMAG team has been in hundreds of briefing conversations. And while every project, client, and budget brings its own personality, one thing is consistent: there’s almost always more going on beneath the surface. Here’s what they rarely say out loud, but actually really want from their AV partner. 1. “Make me look good to my client.” Whether you’re working with a producer, a creative agency, or even an internal comms team, there's usually another layer above them. A brand director. A Head of Production. A CMO. What they want isn’t just technical brilliance (though that’s always a non-negotiable). They want you to make them look like the hero. That means calm in chaos, fast fixes, respectful collaboration, and no surprises on site. At iMAG, we get that. We operate like an extension of your team - invisible when needed, front-footed when it counts.
