Bournemouth 7s 2025

Bournemouth University Sports Campus in Christchurch

The Bournemouth 7s Festival, known as the world’s largest sports and music festival, draws tens of thousands of visitors annually. In 2025, iMAG was once again approached to deliver a large-scale, fully integrated LED screen and video control solution across multiple festival zones, including the Main Stage, Main Sports Pitch, Outer Pitches, and Bars. With such a diverse and high-footfall setting, the client required a solution that was not only technically flawless but visually unforgettable.

The Challenge:

Creating a unified video system for a large and complex outdoor event like Bournemouth 7s involved numerous significant challenges.. Each screen location had unique viewing requirements, light conditions, and audience interactions. The main pitch required a live scoreboard visible from all angles, while the main stage and bar areas needed immersive, high-definition visuals to match the energy of headline performances. All systems needed to operate seamlessly over several days of non-stop content, under unpredictable weather, and with zero tolerance for technical downtime. Above all, the solution had to ensure that brand and sponsor visibility was uncompromised across every screen.

The Solution

We deployed a bespoke LED solution across the festival site using our extensive inventory of premium equipment and industry-leading video control expertise. For the main bar, we installed a striking 5m x 2.5m screen built from our ROE Visual BQ4 panels. The same high-resolution BQ4 system was used for the main pitch scoreboard, measuring 4.5m x 2.5m, and engineered to deliver real-time sporting updates, event branding, and crowd prompts with absolute clarity.

Video processing was managed through the powerful Megapixel MVR 4K system, selected for its capability to handle multiple feeds and ultra-reliable 4K content delivery. In addition to the primary installations, we installed numerous bar and outer pitch screens across the site, all built from the same BQ4 panels to ensure consistency in brightness, resolution, and colour fidelity. These were managed via a centralised control hub, allowing real-time updates across all zones.

Equipment used:

  • ROE Visual Black Quartz 4 LED Screen
  • Megapixel MVR 4K Processors

You can have the best kit in the world, the slickest pitch deck, and a glittering showreel, but if you don’t understand what your clients really need when the pressure’s on, you’ll never be their first call again. After more than twelve years working across the creative, brand, and production landscape, the iMAG team has been in hundreds of briefing conversations. And while every project, client, and budget brings its own personality, one thing is consistent: there’s almost always more going on beneath the surface. Here’s what they rarely say out loud, but actually really want from their AV partner. 1. “Make me look good to my client.” Whether you’re working with a producer, a creative agency, or even an internal comms team, there's usually another layer above them. A brand director. A Head of Production. A CMO. What they want isn’t just technical brilliance (though that’s always a non-negotiable). They want you to make them look like the hero. That means calm in chaos, fast fixes, respectful collaboration, and no surprises on site. At iMAG, we get that. We operate like an extension of your team - invisible when needed, front-footed when it counts.
