It’s been an incredible period of growth at iMAG. More projects, more technology and bigger creative ambitions are keeping our teams busier than ever.

As our project portfolio and inventory of LED, video control and production technology continue to expand, maintaining the standards that have shaped iMAG from day one remains incredibly important to us. Growth should never come at the expense of the pride, care and attention to detail we bring to every job.

That’s why we’ve strengthened our warehouse team at iMAG Hq in Poole, welcoming Malcolm Hall as our new Technical Asset Manager. Malcolm brings 30 years of experience across AV and live events, including 16 years specialising in video. Based at our Poole headquarters, he’ll play an important role in ensuring our extensive technical inventory is maintained, tested, organised and project-ready.

Investing Behind the Scenes

The technology that audiences eventually see is only one part of delivering a successful production. Long before an LED screen is installed, a processor goes live or a media server starts running content, there’s a huge amount of work happening behind the scenes. Equipment needs to be maintained, tested and prepared to the same high standard, whether it’s heading out on a dry hire or forming part of a complex, fully managed production.

As iMAG has grown, so too has the scale and breadth of the technology moving through our warehouse. Strengthening the team responsible for those assets is therefore an important part of making sure our growth remains sustainable without compromising the service our clients know us for.

Alex Strachan, iMAG's Managing Director says “We’ve experienced incredible growth over the last twelve months, but what’s really important to us is that we never lose the pride and attention to detail that got us here. Our warehouse and technical teams are a massive part of that. The preparation that happens before equipment ever reaches site directly impacts what we can deliver for our clients.

“Malcolm brings a huge amount of technical experience, but just as importantly, he understands how we work and the standards we expect. Having him focused on our technical assets gives us another layer of experience behind every project as we continue to grow.”

Three Decades of AV and Video Experience

Malcolm’s career began working on outdoor events for radio stations before he moved into corporate AV, spending ten years developing experience across a broad range of technical disciplines. He later moved into LED technology before spending 11 years as a freelance video engineer. Most recently, he spent three years as a Technical Manager within corporate events. Video has been his particular specialism for the past 16 years, but it’s the breadth of experience accumulated across three decades that he now brings to iMAG.

Known for staying calm under pressure and finding solutions when technical challenges arise, Malcolm has also worked with iMAG over the years as a freelancer, making his move into the permanent team a natural next chapter. Talking about the decision, Malcom says "I’ve known Alex and Charli from the early days and have watched iMAG grow over the last 13 years, as well as working with the team as a freelancer. It’s exciting to now be joining permanently and to be part of what comes next.”

Ready for What Comes Next

For us, Malcolm’s appointment is about more than managing equipment. It’s another investment in the infrastructure and people that allow us to keep delivering the level of technical quality and client service we expect from ourselves as iMAG continues to grow.

Welcome to the team Malcolm!
